Eight years ago, Katie’s daughter, Addie envisioned a simple hot chocolate stand as a means to bring warmth not just to cold hands but to the hearts of those in need. The spark that ignited this mission came when she, at the young age of 5, discovered the reality that some people lacked the basic necessity of food.

It all started with a school project where Addie, driven by curiosity, inquired about the purpose of collecting canned goods. When she learned that these items were destined for those who were struggling to put food on their tables, it struck a chord within her. The awareness that there were individuals out there without access to a fundamental human need left her heartbroken.

In that moment, Addie's bedtime "daily digest" became a platform for her unbridled enthusiasm and determination to contribute to a solution. Her young mind couldn't rest until she had brainstormed ways to alleviate the issue at hand. It was clear—action was needed, and it was needed urgently.
